    Berkeley County moves to OPCON 2 amid potential impacts from Hurricane Helene

    BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – In preparation for the impacts of Hurricane Helene , Berkeley County Emergency Operations Center has moved to OPCON 2.

    OPCON 2 means a disaster or emergency is likely to affect the county and emergency operations are implemented.

    Berkeley County Emergency Management officials say they are monitoring the storm and preparing for potential impacts.

    Berkeley County School District moves to eLearning Friday

    Berkeley County is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning and Tornado Watch.

    Officials say the Citizen Cal Line is currently operational 24/7 for non-emergency calls only. For all emergency calls, the county asks users to call 911.
