    Driver killed in Old Whitesville Road crash

    MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver is dead following an early morning crash on Old Whitesville Road, officials said.

    Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell said his office was notified about a traffic incident just before 3:30 a.m. in Moncks Corner.

    The victim was driving a 2014 Mercedes Sedan when it left the right side of the road and hit a tree.

    The driver, identified as 46-year-old Rascheen Pinckney, of Cross, died at the scene.

    South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
