CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the football game between The Citadel and East Tennessee State University (ETSU) has been delayed. ETSU’s team arrived in Charleston early Saturday morning, much later than anticipated, due to travel complications caused by the storm.

The game, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, will kick off at 5 p.m. The Citadel President, Gen. Glenn Walters, and Athletics Director, Mike Capaccio, coordinated with ETSU leadership to adjust the schedule and accommodate the delay.

Despite the change in game time, all other events for The Citadel’s Parents’ Weekend will continue as planned.

“The Citadel Family, having past experience with the devastating impacts of tropical systems, empathizes with all those in the Southeast who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene,” the statement read.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to monitor updates and prepare accordingly for any further changes.
