    Berkeley County Coroner identifies worker killed in 15-ft. fall at Century Aluminum

    GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after a fall at Century Aluminum in Goose Creek on Friday, September 27.

    According to the coroner, 61-year-old Daniel E. McCoy of Summerville, an employee at the facility, fell approximately 15 feet while on the job.

    McCoy was taken to a local hospital by EMS, where he later succumbed to traumatic injuries.

    The Berkeley County EMS and Goose Creek Rural Fire Department responded to the incident.

    The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the accident.
