COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Colleton County students will return to the classroom on Tuesday after learning virtually in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

All schools will be open, and buses will run their regular routes, according to the district.
Schools shifted to eLearning last week after Hurricane Helene brought damage and power outages to much of the county, which lasted through the weekend and Monday.

The district is now returning to normal operations. “We hope to see all of our faculty and students on campus,” the district said.

Students are asked to bring their Chromebooks and charges to school when they return Tuesday morning.

Extracurricular activities, athletics, and after-school programs will also resume.

“For families who are still dealing with road hazards or power outages, we understand the challenges you are facing in the aftermath of this unprecedented storm. We want to reassure you that we are here to support you during this difficult time,” the district said. “Our commitment to you remains unwavering as we navigate the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We appreciate your continued support as we work to bring our students back to school.”

Families who are still experiencing issues related to the storm are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Services at 843-782-4524 or email ehwilliams@colleton.k12.sc.us for support.
