Police conduct death investigation near Mount Pleasant pond

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Multiple agencies were seen conducting a death investigation Friday morning near a Mount Pleasant pond.

Sgt. Ashley Croy with the Mount Pleasant Police Department said the investigation was taking place along Paul Foster Road near Belle Hall Parkway.

Law enforcement sources told News 2 that the incident involved assisting the coroner’s office with collecting a body from a pond.

Photos shared with News 2 from the scene showed first responders with a large silver tarp near the side of the pond.

Sgt. Croy later said first responders cleared the scene around 10:36 a.m., and that the investigation was still active. No new details were provided.
