COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A former Colleton Preparatory Academy student was arrested Tuesday after pulling out a firearm during an argument with peers in the school parking lot.

The incident happened Monday after a sports practice that afternoon, according to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office.

Several students were interviewed about the argument, and a 10th grader was charged with possession of a firearm on school property.

The sheriff’s office said the student was dismissed from the school and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
