    Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run on Ladson Rd

    NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a bicyclist on Ladson Rd.

    According to Harve Jacobs, North Charleston PD’s spokesperson, the incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers responded to Ladson Rd in front of the Sphinx for an auto vs. bicyclist collision.

    Officials say a male was found dead in the roadway and the vehicle fled the scene.

    A person has been detained for questioning, officers say.

    The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.

    The North Charleston Police Department’s Traffic Unit and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating.

    They need to make this area more walking and biker friendly! A lot of people don’t have cars. I see kids walking to school on 6 inches of road bc of no sidewalks.
