COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Colleton County and its Sheriff’s Office are scheduled to meet with late-night establishment owners to discuss ordinances at an open house on Thursday.

Officials say the purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for late-night business owners to ask any questions they may have about County Ordinance 23-0-09, which requires late-night establishments to apply for a permit and submit safety plans to open past midnight.

The ordinance was passed on July 25, 2023, and advertised for Public Hearing on July 6, 2023. According to the county, a late-night establishment is any business that serves alcohol and operates past midnight.

The open house will be held at the County Council Chambers located at 109 Benson Street in Waltebroro beginning at 5:30 p.m.
