St. Paul police are looking for a suspect in the shooting death of a man Saturday night on the city's north end.

Officers were called to the scene at Woodbridge Street and Wheelock Parkway at about 10:00 p.m.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

St. Paul police sergeant Mike Ernster says they need help from the public in finding out what happened

"They don't even have to call us directly," he said in an early-morning news conference. "If they have something that they want to share with us, I would encourage to contact a pastor, a trusted family friend, it can be a third party.  Contact someone."

This comes after a stabbing death of a man on Friday night at a downtown St. Paul gas station parking lot.

There is an arrest in that case.

There are now 21 reported homicides in St. Paul this year.
