A deadly shooting Monday night in St. Paul's north end left one man dead marking the city's third homicide in four days.

St. Paul police were called just before 9:30 p.m. about a man who had been shot at the intersection of Jackson Street and Wheelock Parkway, just about a half mile away from where a shooting left one person dead Saturday evening.

An adult male was taken to Regions Hospital where he later died marking the city's 22nd homicide of the year.

St. Paul police sergeant Mike Ernster said early Tuesday morning that a stabbing Friday, along with Saturday's shooting, don't appear to be connected to the latest shooting.

"Investigators are throwing everything they can at all of these cases," he said. "Trying to find out who is responsible for them, solve them as fast we can, and hold the people accountable."

Police haven't made any arrests related to Monday night's shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.
