Community Spotlight: ‘Beatles & Bach’ with the Danville Symphony Orchestra

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Danville Symphony Orchestra’s Matthew Sheppard joined Amanda Brennan for Thursday’s Community Spotlight segment, talking all about their upcoming “Beatles & Bach” concert.

Sheppard is one of two candidates for the DSO’s new music director. The DSO was previously under the leadership of Maestro Jeremy Swerling for nearly 30 years.

Guest soloist Brandon Ridenour is a classical orchestral trumpet player who has performed and composed for the Canadian Brass. Now, he is taking Beatles arrangements and turning them into orchestra pieces.

The concert will take place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Danville High School’s Dick Van Dyke Auditorium. Tickets are available online at danvillesymphony.org or at the door.
