Community Spotlight: ‘Rock for Kids’ benefit concert with Crisis Nursery of Effingham Co.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — For Wednesday’s Community Spotlight segment, Meghan Rewers from Crisis Nursery of Effingham County discussed an upcoming “Rock for Kids” fundraiser to benefit young children in the community.

It will take place on June 8 from 2 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on The Stage at Lake Sara in Effingham. Nine bands will perform live for the event. There will also be several family-friendly activities available.

Admission is free for children ages six and under. Otherwise, tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased online .

The Crisis Nursery just celebrated its seventh year in operation. The organization helps support at-risk children and families by providing free, accessible shelter care services 24/7. For more information, please visit www.crisisnurseryofeffingham.com .
