Danville Fire hosting community agility test, accepting firefighter applications

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville Fire Department is offering the community a chance to either become a firefighter for a few minutes or become a firefighter for a career.

The department will be hosting a community engagement event this Saturday in downtown Danville. In addition to meeting firefighters, people can put on turnout gear and move through an agility course to test their firefighting skills.

The department will also be accepting applications from those who want to become a firefighter.

The community engagement event will take place at the downtown parking garage at 22 North Walnut Street from 8 a.m. to noon.
