Riggs Beer Company hosting ‘Pintwood Derby’

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Riggs Beer Company in Urbana is going from Boy Scouts to brewskis with their annual “Pintwood Derby” event.

The competition continues the Cub Scout tradition of carving and designing a small, wooden car to race down a sloped track. Only this time, it’s for adults.

The Pintwood Derby is only one week away: May 29 at 6 p.m. It will take place at Riggs, located at 1901 South High Cross Road in Urbana.

Each entry costs $50. The fee includes heavy appetizers and two beer tickets. Funds from the event will go to the Scouts of the Prairielands Council.
