    7 teens arrested after shots fired in Danville Wednesday afternoon

    DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Seven teenagers are under arrest in Danville in connection to a shots-fired incident that happened Wednesday afternoon.

    Officials with the Danville Police Department said the incident happened in the area of Franklin and Townsend Streets around 4 p.m. When officers arrived, they found and stopped several people who matched witness descriptions of the people involved.

    During the investigation, officials said, a Danville K9 officer and his partner searched an overgrown empty lot in the area, and they found a gun, believed to be the one used in the incident. Further investigation led to officers searching a home nearby, where another gun was found.

    As a result, officers arrested Jeremiah Parrish, 19 of Danville, and booked him into jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon. Six juveniles, ages 13, 14, 16 and 17, were also arrested on weapons charges.
