8:30 UPDATE: The Teutopolis Fire Protection District has shared more details on a crash on I-70 with three semis.

In a Facebook post, officials said one semi needed to be towed, and the crash caused diesel fuel to spill on the road. Firefighters used oil dry to clean up the fuel before towing the semi.

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Traffic has slowed on I-70 due to a crash involving three semis near Teutopolis.

State Police officials said the crash involving three semi trucks on I-70 eastbound happened on Sunday evening near mile marker 101.5. Some lanes were temporarily blocked off, but all lanes were reopened just before 7 p.m.

Additionally, state police report a second crash happened between two vehicles also on I-70 near mile marker 101. No lanes were closed due to the second crash.

No one was injured in either crash.

Motorists should still expect delays. Police remind drivers to slow down, prepare for sudden stops, and leave room between themselves and the cars in front of them.

Too many drivers do not have a license and certainly do not know the rules of the road or for that matter how to drive!
