    Trailer containing eggs catches fire on I-70

    MONTROSE, Ill. (WCIA) — Multiple agencies responded to a semi-truck transporting eggs that caught on fire on I-70 near Montrose on Sunday afternoon.

    It happened around 1:45 p.m. near mile marker 104 on I-70. State Police said it started as a break fire and then spread. Firefighters with the Teutopolis Fire Protection District said the truck’s driver was able to disconnect the tractor from the trailer before they arrived on scene.

    No one was hurt in the incident. Firefighters cleared the scene before 4 p.m.
