    Iroquois Co. man accused of murdering family member

    BEAVERVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — An Iroquois County man is under arrest on charges of first-degree murder following the discovery of his deceased family member over the weekend.

    The County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy performed a welfare check at a home in Beaverville on Sunday. When the deputy arrived, officials said he was met by 54-year-old Anthony Esposito. After a short conversation with Esposito, the deputy discovered a member of Esposito’s family dead inside the home.

    After an investigation, Esposito was taken into custody by the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into the Iroquois County Jail on charges of first-degree murder.

    Esposito remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
