AP Poll: Illinois knocking on door of Top 25

(WCIA) — Illinois earned votes in the AP Poll for the first time since Week 2 of the 2023 season after a 23-17 win over No. 19 Kansas.

The Illini received 101 votes from AP voters, just 13 votes out of the Top 25. Northern Illinois claimed the last spot with a win over No. 5 Notre Dame.

Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, USC, Nebraska and Michigan represent the Big Ten in this week’s poll. After the loss at Memorial Stadium, Kansas dropped out and received just 22 votes.
