BHRA’s Parish wins WCIA 3 Athlete of the Week

BISMARK, Ill. (WCIA) – Bismark-Henning-Rossvile-Alvin senior Evan Parish was named WCIA 3’s Athlete of the Week on Thursday.

Parish ran for 154 yards and one touchdown in the Blue Devils’ week two win against Westville. He’s contributing on defense, too. The BHRA senior tallied 14 tackles on Friday. He broke the program record for tackles in a single season as a junior.

He takes pride in his leadership.

“Just showing the guys what it’s like,” Parish told WCIA 3. “I’ve been here for four years, so I know what the program and culture’s like and just bringing all of my guys with me and just showing them how to be that guy and helping all of the younger guys eventually become a good leader as well.”

The Blue Devils are 2-0 and play Hoopeston on Friday, Sept. 13.
