SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Illinois State Trooper who was shot last year during a traffic stop in Springfield has returned to duty.

It’s been 11 months since Trooper Dakotah Chapman-Green was hurt while pulling over Cristobal Santana, who was considered a suspect in the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Chicago . During that traffic stop, the Santana allegedly shot Chapman-Green multiple times, chased him down and then beat him in the face with his gun.
