TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Taylorville Police Department is warning residents to be aware of a possible scam happening online.

The Taylorville Police Department took to Facebook late Sunday night to warn residents about fake missing person posts. The department says that missing persons posts will not begin in the Facebook Regifting/Sales groups.

They also ask residents to reach out to the Taylorville Police Department if they are unsure a missing persons post is real or not, before sharing to social media.
