The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur is ready to open its gates

ARTHUR, Ill. (WCIA) – The Great Pumpkin Patch is gearing up for its 35th opening day on Wednesday. Displays made from repurposed antiques, made-from-scratch bakery items, and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes will make their debut.

It’s almost impossible to miss the pumpkins on their farm that spell “Be Kind.” Employees say this year is all about community and inclusion.

“Any way we can celebrate diversity — whether it be plant material, pumpkin squash and gourds, animals —  it’s just all about everyone coming together, having a good time and enjoying the harvest season,” owner and operator Mac Condill said.

Another highlight according to Condill is a new miniature horse named “Patches”, who will celebrate her first fall on the farm. She’ll be around to welcome guests alongside ducks, chickens and a sheep.

The patch will be open Sept. 18 through Oct. 31. Information about admission is available here .
