Sara Rhodes was a volunteer and foster with the Vermilion County Animal Regulations and Animal Shelter. At one point, she fostered two dogs named Lila and Moggie, who became best friends while in her home.

Vermilion County Animal Regulations and Animal Shelter shared Lila, Moggie and Sara’s story on Facebook .

According to the shelter, Moggie was eventually adopted, and Lila stayed with Sara until she passed away. After Sara died, Lila was adopted and Moggie was returned to the shelter. Later on, however, Lila’s owners messaged the shelter that Lila needed a friend, and they wanted to adopt another dog.

Now, Moggie and Lila are reunited in the same home once again.
