Maroa-Forsyth tight end flips commitment to Illinois

FORSYTH, Ill. (WCIA) — A local standout has flipped his college commitment from the Redbirds to the Illini.

Maroa-Forsyth tight end Grant Smith announced his commitment to Illinois State over the summer but took an unofficial visit to Illinois for the sellout Kansas game.

The three-star is ranked as the No. 55 player in the state, the first tight end commitment in his class.
