    Candle Lighting Ceremony in Central Illinois counties honor DV victims

    CENTRAL ILLINOIS, Ill. (WCIA) — Several Central Illinois counties will honor domestic violence victims throughout the month of October.

    The Dove, Inc. Domestic Violence Program will hold four Candle Lighting Ceremonies to remember and honor those who have experienced and died from domestic violence. The ceremonies will also celebrate the survivors.

    At 7 p.m. on Oct. 3, residents of Shelby County are invited to First Assembly of God for the first Candle Lighting Ceremony of the month.

    The second ceremony will be in Macon County at 7 p.m. on Oct. 8. The ceremony will be at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

    On Oct. 24 Moultrie County will host the third ceremony at First Christian Church, beginning at 7 p.m.

    The last Candle Lighting Ceremony will take place in DeWitt County. Residents can arrive at Journey Church Clinton to light a candle for domestic violence victims. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 8.
