    Monticello house fire still under investigation, no injuries reported

    MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — A house fire that occurred in Monticello on Monday is still under investigation, as of Tuesday night.

    According to John Rupkey, Fire and Rescue Chief, the fire occurred on Crestview Drive and was contained to the attic. Rupkey also said that crews arrived around 3 p.m. and were on the scene for about four hours.

    One hurt after fire destroys Long Creek home

    The owner of the house was present during the fire but was able to escape from the fire without any injuries. No first responder injuries were reported.

    The responding crews included Monticello Fire and Rescue, Mid-Piatt Fire Protection District, Bement Fire Protection District, Cisco Fire Protection District, Kirby Medical Center’s Ambulance, Monticello Police Department and Piatt County EMA.
