Baldarotta’s in Urbana to open second location in early October

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — A beloved Urbana sandwich shop may soon have a second location as early as next month.

In the summer, Baldarotta’s announced a campaign to raise money for a new brick and mortar location on Griggs Street. Since then, they have surpassed their original $35,000 goal and have raised over $38,000.

In a Facebook post earlier in Sept., Baldarotta’s Porketta & Sicilian Sausage said their targeted opening date is early October.

WCIA reached out to confirm when their official soft opening date is, and we’re waiting to hear back.

The new location will be across the street from Station Theater and Broadway Food Hall and in the same building as 25 O’Clock Brewing.

The owners say the location will offer new sandwich options, an expanded gelateria selection, specialty retail items, grab and go options and a deli.

The Baldarotta’s location in Lincoln Square Mall is open Tuesday-Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. On Saturday’s, Baldarotta’s is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday’s they are open from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
