DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — One nonprofit in Danville is facing a deficit they’re trying to fix.

The Vermilion Community Restoration is a thrift store, and men and women shelter that is in need of money.

United Way of Champaign Co. helps fill the gap for families in need of diapers

The group’s vice president says their two shelters are almost $40,000 in debt and they haven’t been able to pay some of their bills. They also say they have a contractor willing to donate his time if they can get the power turned back on. But, that’ll cost about $15,000.

“And we’re needing funds for that to get some other things. And we have some other mechanical issues with the building that we’re needing lights on to get the boiler fixed,” Danville Rescue Mission Vice President Michael Ewing said.

He says people can come to the thrift store to donate . The nonprofit’s goal is to open up the women and men’s shelters later this winter.

God will hold those accountable in the past for their stealing or whatever they have done. Let us come together as God loving community and help those in need. I will be praying 🙏
