    Taylorville Crime Stoppers seeking boat theft suspect

    TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Taylorville Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help to solve a boat theft.

    Thursday night, a person or group of people entered a boat on Taylorville Lake Lot #215. Onboard, they took multiple items, including a Mercury 20 hp motor, a winch, 2 batteries and stereo system. The 2011 Sun Tracker pontoon boat was left floating in Lake Taylorville.

    Taylorville Crime Stoppers says the total amount that was stolen is still unknown at this time.

    If you have any information on this crime, Crime Stoppers asks that you call 824-9100, go to their website or text CRIMES(274637). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and double the normal amount for information that leads to an arrest for the crime of the week.
