    Patching project begins on I-57/70 in Effingham

    EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Monday is the first day of a set of lane closures on Interstate 57/70 in Effingham.

    Officials with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) said a patching project will be taking place on all six lanes and three interchanges in Effingham. The affected stretch of highway is six miles in length.

    Urbana to vote on fuel tax increase, up to 12.5 cents per gallon

    All ramps will remain open, IDOT officials said.
