    Macon County Conservation District to host fall celebration

    MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Macon County Conservation District will celebrate the fall season with games, live music and food in an upcoming festival.

    The Fall Harvest Festival will be Oct. 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. and the Macon County Conservation District says there’s something for everyone. The festival will take place at the Rock Springs Conservation Area. Attendees can participate in archery, canoeing, pumpkin painting, wagon rides and more.

    The Homestead Prairie Farm, a museum in Decatur, will also be open for tours. The woodworking shop and gardens at Homestead Prairie Farm will also be open for free tours.

    Both kids and adults can enjoy “vintage games” and live music on the Homestead Prairie Farm stage. Food will also be available for purchase. Archery and canoeing will cost $3 per person and pumpkin painting is $5 per person, but all other events are free for festival attendees.
