(WCIA) — Illinois’s game against Purdue will be a 2:30 p.m. start in Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 12 and broadcast on FS1.

The Illini get a week off before the border-state clash, a welcome break after five weeks of action followed by four straight Big Ten games.

“I think it’s going to be important in this four-week run to have fresh guys going into that week,” said head coach Bret Bielema after the loss at Penn State. “So we’ll back off them tomorrow….We’ll just have a little bit of recovery in the afternoon. I’ll be on the road Sunday, Monday. We’ll get some really good work on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then on Friday they’ll get some work with Tank. We’ll kind of take Saturday to kind of get it and then we’ll jump Sunday and do some some early prep on Purdue.”

Purdue will travel to Wisconsin on October 5 before the game in Champaign.
