CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign County Courthouse will offer a chance for veterans to see their history in the Library of Congress.

Registration for the Veteran’s History Project is open from now until Oct. 25. Judges will interview veterans about their time in service and will share their experiences throughout the country.

UPDATE: Urbana passes fuel tax increase, 7.5 cents per gallon beginning Jan. 2025

Each interview with the veterans will be transcribed by a court reporter and will then be stored in the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

The event will take place on Nov. 8.

Anyone with additional questions about the Veteran’s History Project can reach out to VeteranEvent@ChampaignCountyIL.gov .

Organizers say to register early, because spots are limited.
