SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The City of Springfield is working to make yard waste and leaf drop off easier for residents this year.

Beginning Oct. 21, until Nov. 30, residents of Springfield can drop their yard waste bags off at Eavans Recycling, located at 2100 J. David Jones Parkway. Evans Recycling will take all of the bags for free.

The Office of Public Works and Evans Recycling just asks that you bring a photo ID when dropping off your yard waste.

Evens Recycling is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Branch drop-off will be available as well, according to the City of Springfield, and free all year long.

Additional questions regarding the yard waste drop off can be directed to Evans Recycling at 217-370-3780, or the City of Springfield Public Works Department at 217-789-2255.
