    Central IL organizations help provide Halloween costumes for local kids

    DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Several community organizations have teamed up in Central Illinois to provide kids with free Halloween costumes this year.

    The Halloween Costume Drive will take place from now until Oct. 11.

    Urbana Champaign Reproductive Justice collecting items for Hurricane Helene victims

    State Representative Brandun Schweizer, Boys and Girls Club of Danville, Rantoul Youth Center and the Rantoul Recreation Department will be accepting the donations.

    Donation Sites

    • Rep. Schweizer’s office: 3281 N. Vermilion Ste., 5 in Danville
    • Boys and Girls Club of Danville: Garfield Park, 850 N. Griffin St., Danville
    • Rantoul Youth Center: 1306 Country Club Ln, Rantoul
    • Rantoul Recreation Department: 100 W. Flessner Ave., Rantoul

    Community members with gently used or new costumes of any size can drop them off during normal business hours during the weekday.

    Schweizer said that a distribution night will take place after the collection drive is over. Families will be invited to come and pick out their costumes ahead of Halloween. Schweizer also said more information about when the distribution night will take place will be released closer to the end of the Halloween Costume Drive.
