Community Spotlight: Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes Walk

EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WCIA) — Avery Ax, the Illinois youth ambassador for Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes, joined WCIA’s Mitchell Rife to talk about an upcoming event in East Peoria.

The Central Illinois Breakthrough T1D Walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13, and Ax said the organization is hoping for “hundreds” of attendees.

Participants will walk a mile to support research and advocacy for Type 1 Diabetes, and can expect vendors, a dance party and Avanti’s for lunch.

The event will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Eastside Center. For more information, visit Breakthrough T1D’s website .
