Part of I-55 south closes near Lincoln after rollover crash

LINCOLN, Ill. (WCIA) — Part of I-55 southbound shut down after a rollover crash early Thursday morning.

The accident happened just after 5 a.m. by milepost 123 near Lincoln and involved a commercial vehicle, according to State Police.

ISP announced that all southbound lanes on I-55 would be blocked and traffic rerouted off at milepost 126 at Lincoln and Mason City. They said the closures may last for several hours, and ISP recommends that travelers take alternate routes. The left lane has since reopened, but both of the right two lanes are still closed.

State Police said no one was hurt, but there was property damage as a result of the crash. There is no further information available at this time.
