The Springfield hospital was named the top performer of 2024 in the Large Specialized Complex Care Medical Center category. This honor shines light on health care organizations whose supply chains have great impacts on community health by purchasing medical products that are sustainably manufactured.

“We know that the health of our environment affects the health of our communities and the people we serve,” said Supply Chain Vice President Erin Bromley.

Vizient provides support services to nonprofit health care organizations across the United States. This includes many supply chain services.

The Memorial Health supply chain team alone provides over 70K different individual items that are needed to care for their patients.

“Sustainability is one of the factors we consider when making decisions about what type of products we use,” Bromley said. “We’re proud that our commitment to environmental health has received nationwide recognition.”
