DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Decatur residents will have the chance to donate unwanted items during a citywide cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Unlike previous years, the event will not take place in the Civic Center parking lot. Between 8 a.m. and noon, residents can bring large household items to the downtown transit campus between Route 51/Franklin St. and Industry Court, south of Wood St.

The city will accept old furniture, mattresses and other household items. A limited number of tires, electronics, appliances, computers and monitors will also be accepted from each car. Paint and yard waste will not be accepted at the citywide cleanup.

To get there, Decatur residents should enter the transit campus from Route 51/Franklin St. and turn right onto Industry Court/Macon St. Cars can line up in the far-right lane along Route 51/Franklin St., Cantrell St. and MLK Drive.

To donate, you must show proof of Decatur residency.
