It’s so easy to take apples that you pick and turn it into delicious applesauce you can enjoy all winter long!

    Ingredients:

3 lbs apples – sliced, peeled & cored
    1/2 C brown sugar
    1 t ground cinnamon
    1/2 C water

    Directions:

    1. Place the peeled, sliced apples into the bowl of your crockpot. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the apples and mix well. Pour the water into the crockpot and place the lid on top. Cook over high heat for four hours.
    2. When cooking time is up, remove the lid and mix the apples using a wire whisk, stirring until smooth, or until desired consistency is reached. This applesauce tastes delicious warm!
    3. To store, allow the applesauce to cool completely then place in a sealed container in the fridge. Enjoy!

    Tips & Tricks.

    • This is a nifty tool I found to peel, slice and core apples all in one. If you want to use skins in your applesauce, you can, but this made the work way better for me.
    • You can cook your applesauce long enough that a whisk will be all you need to make it into applesauce. If you like your applesauce smooth and not chunky, use an immersion blender instead.
    • Pick whatever apple variety you have, like or want, or you can do a combination of apples. We are huge honeycrisp apple fans and use that to make applesauce. I’ve also read recipes where you can do this with pears, or a combination of apples and pears.
