    Taylorville Police, Crime Stoppers seeking tips in garage break-in

    TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Taylorville Police Department is seeking help through Crime Stoppers to find the person/people responsible for a garage break-in.

    Officials said the break-in happened last weekend at the intersection of E Elm and N Cottage Streets. At least one person broke into the garage between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning; nothing appeared to have been taken, but debris was left behind and the door may have been damaged.

    A dollar estimate for the damage is unknown at this time.

    People who know something about the break-in are asked to contact Christian County Crime Stoppers to submit a tip anonymously. Anyone with a tip can call 217-824-9100, visit Crime Stoppers’ website , or text CRIMES(274637).

    Any tipster with information that leads to an arrest will be rewarded with up to $1,000, or double for Crimes of the Week like this one.
