    ‘Foodmobile’ gears up to distribute food in Central IL counties

    CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — The Eastern Illinois Foodbank (EIF) will distribute food across several Central Illinois counties throughout the week.

    Between Oct. 16 to Oct. 19 the EIF “Foodmobile” will hit the road and help to feed families in Piatt, southern Iroquois, Ford and DeWitt Counties.

    • Wednesday, October 16 in Piatt County (third Wednesday of each month)

    Atwood: Atwood Area Food Pantry (231 N. Illinois St.) 9-9:30a.m.
    Cerro Gordo: God’s Lifeline (104 E. Carter St.) 10:15-10:45 a.m.
    Bement: Veterans Park 11:15-11:45 a.m.
    Mansfield: US 150 & Washington St. 1-1:30 p.m.

    • Thursday, October 17 in southern Iroquois County (third Thursday of each month)

    Buckley: Edge Insurance (520 Railroad Ave.) 9-9:30 a.m.
    Onarga: Durham Park 10-10:30 a.m.
    Crescent City: Community Center (301 Main St.) 11-11:30 a.m.
    Watseka: Trinity Church (1658 E. Walnut St.) 12:30-1 p.m.
    Milford: parking lot across from post office (N. West Ave.) 1:30-2 p.m.

    • Friday, October 18 in Ford County (third Friday of each month)

    Piper City: across from Piper City Community Center 9-9:30 a.m.
    Thawville: Main St. & Melvin St. (north of basketball court) 10-10:30 a.m.
    Melvin: across from Melvin Convenient (109 W. Main St.) 11-11:30 a.m.
    Gibson City: City Hall (109 N. Sangamon) 12:15-12:45 p.m.
    Elliott: Elliott Village Hall 1-1:30 p.m.
    Paxton: Paxton Hardware & Rental (525 S. Market St.) 2-2:30 p.m.

    • Saturday, October 19 in DeWitt County (third Saturday of each month)

    DeWitt: Powerhouse Pub (18836 IL-54) 8:45-9 a.m.
    Clinton: American Legion (219 N. Elizabeth St.) 9:30-10:15 a.m.
    Waynesville: Waynesville Christian Church (105 S. 4th St.) 10:45-11:15 a.m.
    Wapella: Wapella Park (105 N. Poplar St.) 11:45am-12 p.m.

    Illinois Innocence Project hosts annual fundraising event in Springfield

    They ask that if you plan to attend one of the distributions this week for the first time, to visit eifneighbors.org to pre-register. The foodbank also asks that those attending bring something to transport their food in after they’ve collected it.

    Why not take this food & distribute it to those who need it the most,,,ie. hurricane victims??

    They need to come to Jacksonville as well there is lots of people here that could use the help
