Mahomet-Seymour tight end commits to Illini

MAHOMET, Ill. (WCIA) — Bulldog senior tight end Trey Peters has announced his college plans.

Peters announced on X that he will suit up for the Illini next fall, trading in one orange and blue uniform for another.

Earlier this year Peters had a hand in setting two school records, catching five touchdowns for 344 receiving yards in Mahomet-Seymour’s opener against Morton.

Jeremy Werner of the Illini Inquirer reports that Peters will be a preferred walk-on.
