    City of Decatur starts budget talks for FY 2025

    DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The conversation for balancing the fiscal year 2025 budget has begun for the city of Decatur.

    City Treasurer Ruby James presented her recommended budget at a study session Monday evening. While the city council was present to hear it, no action was taken on the measure.

    Some highlights include a conservative revenue budget, decreased property tax rates, increased medical costs for Decatur and 15 new positions within the City.
