DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Macon County is making improvements to their water quality testing.

Decatur is implementing new water sampling stations and pressure monitors. They’re installing 20 sampling stations and 13 pressure monitoring systems.

The Mueller Hydro-Guard Water Sampling Stations are self-draining, and freeze protected. They’re replacing sampling locations that were insides of homes and local gas stations.

The new stations make it much easier to test the water quality in the city.

A few select boxes have i2O Pressure Loggers, which will help detect leaks and monitor pressure. This will be especially important for large industrial customers who rely on consistent water pressure.
