    Arthur business hand delivers hurricane relief supplies

    ARTHUR Ill. (WCIA) – A central Illinois business is leaving its mark on Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

    Oye’s Hardware in Arthur collected donations for a week before making the 11-hour drive down to a church in Newland, North Carolina.

    Federal money to help states hit by hurricanes Helene and Milton nears $2 billion

    Owner Charlie Oye drove one of the two trucks to the East Coast. Among the donations were:

    • 100 cylinders of propane
    • 100 carbon monoxide detectors
    • 60 heaters
    • 60 coats
    • 50 gallons of chainsaw fuel
    • 30 sleeping bags
    • 20 gallons of bar and chain oil
    • 20 bags of charcoal
    • 15 air mattresses
    • 10 dehumidifiers
    • 10 grills

    Oye said batteries, food, medicine, flashlights and more were also dropped off.
