    Two Springfield men arrested on drug charges after search warrant

    SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Two men from Springfield were arrested on drug charges after a warrant.

    The Springfield Police Department served a search warrant at a house on S. 25th Street near Cook Street.

    Sangamon Co. Sheriff’s Office hosting Drug Take Back Day

    From the warrant, officers seized 15 grams of heroin/fentanyl, 23 grams of crack cocaine, 10 grams of cannabis, 4 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, a stun gun and a Springfield Armory 911 pistol that had been reported stolen.

    35-year-old Demarco Johnson of Springfield and 28-years-old Richard Simms III of Springfield were arrested as a result of the warrant. Johnson was arrested for for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and manufacture and delivery of cocaine. Simms was arrested for manufacture and delivery of heroin and manufacture and delivery of cocaine.

    Both suspects are currently in custody at the Sangamon County Jail.
