CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – Illinois football is moving up in the national ranks after beating Michigan on Saturday.

The Illini took down the Wolverines, who previously ranked No. 24, 21-7. With the win, Illinois jumped up to No. 20 in the AP poll and No. 21 in the coaches poll.

Bret Bielema and his team now face what is likely their toughest test yet this season. The Oregon Ducks took over the No. 1 spot in the AP poll, after Texas lost to Georgia on Saturday. The Illini visit Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, Oct. 26. It will mark the two program’s first meetings as conference foes.
